The Rogers

So the big event has come and gone, leaving a wake of exhausted yet happy folks who really got into the celebration. The past week was the most entertaining but also draining time in a long time in this household. My husband served as Best Man and I as personal photographer for the pair. It was wonderful, the two of them were the best people in the lead up and the actual event. No drama, just fun and happiness. That is my kind of wedding.

As I said, I served as a person to capture some of those moments that might get lost and I had a great time doing it. I love being behind the camera lately, it just feels so good to catch a moment, unguarded, and freeze it for her (and him) to look at later. I have realized one thing...digital photography could eat up all of my crafting time if I let it. But I did want to get a few up for them and it was fun to sift through the legions of pictures. Here are a few of my faves so far...

And here is a link to the pre-wedding festivities and the wedding day.
Another thing I realized. Um, being behind the camera really limits the amount of photos of yourself. I was there though, here is evidence.

And due to a glitch in the open mic time and the whirlwind evening, I somehow missed my chance to toast the bride and groom. I figured I would put it here where they might read it later on:

Mike, I have known you since we were teenagers. You were one of the reasons Tim and I came together in those early years
and for that you will always have a part of my heart. I have watched you grow over the years and I have always seen the immense amount of love you
held inside. It was a love you wanted to share with someone so badly. I remember conversations we had about looking for her, the right person for you.

And then one night you told me you were going on a blind date and that you were looking forward to it. And I remember thinking if she was no good I would run her off because i did not want to see you get hurt again.
Then I met Katie and I fell in love with her too. Katie, you are such an independent, intelligent, hilariously funny woman, but one of the things that makes me so happy is how much you love Mike. And you make him so very happy. In you he has found the person to give his love unbounded.

We could not be happier to have you as friends and it is wonderful to know you two will be around for a long, long time. Welcome to the world of the married. I wish you the most wonderful of lives together. Cheers.

Wow, these photos are brilliant, so much more beautiful and creative than most wedding photos - I think you could easily have a second career as a photographer.

I particularly love the picture of the bride's feet. Such a creative shot, it says so much!
